UpDog has been a staple in the East-side Melbourne community since 2016. The essence of our offerings is based on the foundation that each and every individual is here on a personal journey, not to find themselves, not to better themselves, but to reveal what is already there. Pure Divinity.

We do this by sharing traditional teachings from a place of dedicated learning, lived experience and inner understanding. Every single teacher is a unique and caring individual with a set of skills and talents that not only excites but inspires you to unravel and dissolve into the grounded, stable, open and loving self that you are.

A typical class is a guided meditative movement class. Often incorporating a theme, breath work, sound and yoga philosophy. Presented in a way that is easy to follow and understand through clear and guided verbal and/or visual cues along with hands on adjustments where needed to correct and/or guide students deeper into physical practice.

What should I bring to class?
We provide Everything you need, Mats, blocks, straps, bolsters, THE LOT! If there is anything you wish to bring, all good. No phones in class please. No exceptions. Imagine a phone going off while you are trying to unwind…
I can't touch my toes, can I still come to practice?
Yes! With time, proper guidance and practice, your body will open up, but only if you show up.
I’m a complete beginner, which classes should I attend?
All our classes are beginner friendly. Our experienced crew provide options right through to offer opportunity to expand and deepen your experience as you feel ready.
Can I practice if I’m injured?
With your physician’s approval, yes. Please remember to always advise your teacher of any new injury so that modifications can be provided.
Your website isn’t letting me book, what should I do?
Try the following -Please ensure your browser and software are up to date. -We have found that Google Chrome is typically more reliable than Safari, Firefox or Internet Explorer. -Please avoid accessing the website on your phone, the website is designed for bigger screens. This is why we have the UpDog App. It’s FREE via iTunes and Google Play
My UpDog App isn’t working, what should I do?
Just like humans, technology is awesome when everything is in alignment. Firstly, apologies for the inconvenience. If your UpDog App is glitching, please try the following. -Turn your phone off and on. -Ensure the UpDog App is updated to the latest version. -Ensure your Apple or Android operating software is up to date. -If you haven’t already, please delete, and re-install the UpDog App, this works almost every time. -Reset your password using the Forgot Password link. If you still are having trouble please email info@updogyoga.com.au or call 0421079374. We’re here to assist.
Where is the best place to park?
Street parking is plentiful but not always predictable. In the side streets, time restrictions are more generous. Coles Car park is a solid 2 hours! And just a 3 minute walk.
How hot is the room?
We aim to keep the room temperature comfortable, between 25 -27 degrees, which is like the perfect sunny day. We use Infra-red panels which have proven health benefits. In winter we boost with split system on super cold days. On scorching hot Melbourne summer days, we’ll use the air-con to cool down the room to 22-23 degrees. We keep it real.
Can I practice yoga if I’m pregnant?
If you already have a yoga practice and the OK from your physician, we say sure. If you have never practiced yoga and are pregnant, we recommend a private session with one of our qualified crew who will help you assess and determine if this is right for you. See pricing page for private tuition.
Can I bring my kids to class?
To practice, Yes. Supervised by adult guardian, kids 10yo+ are welcome. Please note, classes are not geared for children. Kids are not to be left in our reception during class. This is a distraction to teachers and students alike. We appreciate your understanding.
Why don’t you offer concession rates?
Our Rates are already the most competitive you will find anywhere.
